Jumping On The Ray Ban Bandwagon

Seems like, nowadays, you're not a celeb if you don't own a pair of Wayfarer shades. From coast to coast, D List through A, stars are rocking Ray Ban's best-selling style.

For the past year or so, I have been in a monogamous relationship with a pair of oversized Gucci shades - but this summer, I'm feeling like I need something a bit more streamlined. So I'm currently contemplating hopping on board the Ray Ban bandwagon.

Yesterday, during a routine trip to Lord & Taylor, I decided to try on the iconic style made famous by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany's. I was very surprised by how well they flattered my face. Typically, I'm the Goldilocks of shades; I have to try on about 25 pairs before I find one that looks halfway decent. But the first pair I picked up was Ray Ban's new Wayfarer style 2132, a smaller take on the original...and they fit like they were custom made.

Had Mr. Spoiled Pretty not been with me - watching me like a hawk and cautioning me from giving my Visa card too much of a workout - I would have bought those sunglasses on the spot. Now, as I sit here typing, I'm singing the shoulda woulda coulda's.

I'll probably end up going back to the store tomorrow. Lord & Taylor is having a sale right now online and in stores, and almost everything is 20% off*. Which means that the Wayfarers will only cost me $87.20 - as opposed to the $109 regular price.
